Shared Services Model
Using ASP or SaaS models ECN provides all the necessary infrastructure to operate and support the messaging services. All our messaging services are provided under our shared services environment. Service subscribers typically pay usage charges based on the volume of messages

The shared services are well suited to many to many style exchanges of services, messages or files between trading partners, authenticated or authorized parties. Quite unsurprisingly this is the most popular option with the majority of our customers.

The shared services model is also suitable for supporting specific points of integration between parties.

Dedicated Services Model
ECN also offers all of its services including BPM, B2B and AI in a dedicated format within the customer's environment. The dedicated model provides specific infrastructure to the customer which can be either owned by the customer or bundled as part of the service.

Typically the dedicated service model provides the infrastructure witin the customer's environment, however ECN also offers full external hosting within a secure hosting environment.

Internal application integrations including business integration services are only provided in a dedicated model.

Flexibility again, is key with customers enjoying the ability to select, for example, a dedicated integration platform while selecting ECN's B2B document exchange for trading partner integrations. A solution may use only componenets of ECN 's shared environment but operate dedicated infrastructure within our external hosting environment. The ECN managed Messaging Service (MMS) is a leading example of this.
